I love watching shows about the emergency services, I have loads of shows I watch about the police as well as ones about the air ambulance service, mountain rescue, life guards and every thing in between. It’s like…I guess I like the real life drama of it, lets be honest everyone likes a good old nose when we see something happening and there are blue lights flashing, it’s just human nature.

I just saw some pictures of natalie portman’s engagement ring in a trashy magazine I was reading at the doctors – wowser, that’s some serious bling isn’t it? I bet it cost an absolute fortune though, probably ten times as much as mine did haha. I love my engagement ring though, it’s perfect for me and it certainly wasn’t cheap at all.

My friend has some gorgeous artcarved rings that she was showing off to me a few days ago and I have decided that I would really like one for myself – they are so interesting and unique looking and really seem to stand out, I would love to be able to show mine off to other people and get asked about it all the time like she does

I love Burn Notice, it’s something I started watching because I was invited to write a post promoting it on a TV related blog I run – I didn’t think it sounded like my cup of tea, spy shows with people running around blowing things up and using a whistler radar etc isn’t something that would usually interest me but I am glad I gave it a chance as it’s now one of the shows I most look forward to each week.

I really need to get some swim goggles that are half decent, I bought some cheap ones on ebay a while ago and they simply don’t serve their purpose as they don’t stay on your head and they don’t stop the water from getting in. I usually live by the saying ‘buy cheap buy twice’ and opt for better quality items.

I didn’t even know that water softeners existed until a few months ago as I didn’t know that water ever even needed softening! I suppose I have been lucky up until now in that I have always lived in a soft water area as it’s certainly a bit of a pain having water that doesn’t do what you just expect it to do. It’s quite strange actually.

I have never really been interested in diet pills as I feel like they don’t really work, surely if there was a magic pill that let you eat what ever you like and not do any exercise to still lose weight – it’d be very well known, provided by doctors and cost an arm and a leg? Maybe they really do work for some people though, never say never

Oooh myfitnesspal has a new barcode scanner as part of their iphone app, it’s pretty awesome as rather than having to search the database to log the foods I can just scan the barcode and it automatically picks up the item and lists the nutritional information for it. It’s going to make logging all my food a whole lot easier – just a shame I don’t have my own iphone and will have to use my husbands.

Why do small netbooks have to be so darned cute? Every time I see one, especially in pink, I want to get out my credit card and buy it there and then. The thing is I don’t have the best eyesight and I need a bigger keyboard to type on so a small netbook would really be of no use to me so I just have to resist it

We need to go to the store at the weekend to pick up several items for the garden and a nice new infrared heater among other things. My other half hates having to go out shopping at the weekends as he’d rather be playing snooker or call of duty – but such is life, I am sure lots of people have to go out shopping when they’d really rather not.
