Lunatics!

It amazes me how many people who work in construction and similar fields don’t use the proper fall protection equipment – this stuff saves lives! One of my favourite trash TV shows is ‘The worlds most amazing videos’ but it’d be nothing without these idiots who do stupid things without the necessary safety stuff! There are some lunatics in this world hey?

Memories

I had to take a course in safety for my job once and it included 2 hours on
industrial safety supplies ! Ugh, I know that it is important — very important — but it was so boring, I had to fight with myself to keep awake and make sure I was paying absolute attention at all times.

I am glad my ‘learning’ days are over to be honest, I was never great with classes!

Bargain Crazy

There’s nothing I like more than a good old sale, I love bargains so much that I even run a bargains blog where I post vouchers and tips.

I always think that the reality tv world is missing a bargain themed reality show, they have every thing else, why not that? I think ‘Bargain Crazy’ would be a great name for it!

Most seasons of The Apprentice have a challenge that involves the teams getting the best prices on several items, that’s always my favourite challenge :)

Vicky the Game Player

You know, if one more person calls Vicky from this seasons Biggest Loser USA ‘The Gameplayer’ I might just go insane.

The host, Bob, the voice over, the other contestants.

That moniker is far too good for her, she has proved on at least two or three occasions now that she is not a good game player, she’s voted to keep in her biggest threat because of blue team/her alliance loyalty. That is not good game playing. In the last episode she all but handed Ed/Heba the win.

Her actions throughout the game are because she’s just a nasty, spiteful person. End of.

I can’t wait for the finale…oh…oh no wait, I am lying about that. Three of the most unlikable contestants in the shows history have made it to the finale — what’s going to be fun about that? I don’t care about their journeys, I don’t cheer for their successes, I don’t want any of them to win the million dollar Jello prize and no amount of attempted redemptive editing is going to change that.

I’d be amazed if the finale few episodes of this season aren’t the lowest rated episodes ever.

Britney Spears Week on The X Factor

I was almost as excited for Britney Spears week on The X Factor as I was for Take That week last week. I love me some Britney. Plus it helps that my favourite Radio 1 DJ has been going on and on and on about it for weeks, I can’t wait to hear what he has to say about it on Monday because to be honest…it was a big let down.

The five remaining contestants just didn’t do her songs justice. I mean Ruth singing ‘I love rock n roll’, is that really a Britney song just because she might have sung it once? No. And she killed it, and I don’t mean killed it in a good way — in her defence I do think there was something a little wrong with the sound tonight because I was having a hard time hearing any of the acts, even when they were clearly belting it out — but at some points I actually thought she’d forgotten the lyrics she was mumbling that much.

JLS doing ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’, just wrong.

Euoghn singing ‘Sometimes’ was cringe-worthy.

Diana singing ‘I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman’ was an awful warbly mess, and that’s coming from someone who loves Diana’s usual warbly style.

Alexandra was the only one who did her song choice, ‘Toxic’, any justice at all.

As for the Britster herself, well it was obvious moment after the song started that she was miming — which is understandable giving the song, but the fuss that has been made about her first live UK performance in 4 years, you’d think they’d at least have her actually sing live…and maybe put an ounce of effort into the performance.

Oh well.

Still love me some Britney Spears.

The Biggest Loser UK is coming back!

..in a slightly new guise as it will be called ‘Britains Biggest Loser’, but still huzzah! Big news for Biggest Loser UK fans, it’s coming back! Honestly I thought this was axed for good, but it’s been picked up by ITV and even more excitingly it’s going to follow the Australian format of being on nightly rather than just once a week. Awesome.

ITV1 has commissioned Britain’s Biggest Loser, a daily weight-loss show based on the original US format.

Loser follows the lives of dramatically overweight people as they undertake a strict diet and exercise regime in order to shed pounds. Participants begin in couples, but ultimately only one person can walk away with the cash prize.

A UK version was previously made for Living TV in 2005 and fronted by Vicki Butler-Henderson. It was axed after two series, with eventual I’d Do Anything champ Jodie Prenger winning the second series.

The Biggest Loser format has been adapted in 25 different territories including Australia, Brazil and the Middle East.

ITV daytime controller Adam McDonald said of the commission: “I’m thrilled that this global smash is now coming to ITV1. The phrase ‘life changing show’ is overused in telly but this compassionate, compelling format does just that.”

Executive producer Karen Smith added: “Britain’s Biggest Loser is much more than a reality show, it is a daily, real-life soap opera with inspiring personal journeys and unbelievable transformations which are life changing.”

The Biggest Loser – Team Vile 1 – Team Nice 1

Team Vile 1 – Team Nice 1

The latest episode of The Biggest Loser USA ended in a draw, with Ed returning (or The husband of ‘The world revolves around me’ Heba, as he’s better known in this household) scoring a point for Team Vile…and Amy deciding to vote off Brady scoring a point for Team Nice.

I didn’t think it’d happen to be honest, I have seen enough reality tv show vote offs to know that when it seems like it’s a forgone conclusion, they will edit the heck out of everything to make it seem like there’s a chance it’ll go the other way, but it never does.

Kudos to the editors.

I have disliked Heba from the start, she’s so up her own backside it’s unbelievable — there’s nothing worse than a bitchy little girl who loves to point out and pick at others flaws, but cannot see her own. As for Vicky, she seemed nice enough and then all of a sudden *bam* out comes Vile Vicky, one of the most unpleasant TBL contestants ever — now don’t get me wrong, I don’t care that she’s trying to play the game, I don’t care that she’s in it for the money more than the weight loss — but she’s a genuinely unpleasant woman.

Doing a little dance and happy clap in front of a team who just had to vote someone out? Who does that? No class. at all.

I think the best word to describe that little alliance, is simply Highschool — it really says every thing that needs to be said doesn’t it.

I hope that the black team do a similar little dance that they voted off Brady, let’s see how they like that. *

Roll on next week. The fallout should be spectacular. I only hope that Bob doesn’t freak out on Amy, her game, her life, her choice Bob!

* actually I hope they don’t, and I know they won’t…but it’d be well deserved if they did.

The Amazing Race Episode 7

I just finished watching last weeks episode of The Amazing Race, a little slow of me I know, but what can I say I have been busy.

Great episode, it had everything — including the much need tension and franticness that makes TAR what it is. The Indian legs always seem the most fraught every season, all those people, crazy driving, the hustle and bustle.

The road block looked amazing, I can’t believe that dye — frankly I’d have been terrified, having everyone throwing it right in my face, but the after affect was gorgeous. I could not believe how green it turned Tina’s hair!

The race to the pit stop between Dandrew and The Shrews was insane, I have never wanted a team to lose as badly as I wanted The Shrews to, not only because they deserved it after a dismal performance this leg — but also because they are just so unlikable. You can see why they are divorced.

Top Design is over…

….what will I do with myself now, I love that show. It was a really great season as well with all three of the finalists showing great, wonderful and unique designs.

Shall I tell you one thing that really annoys me about home make over style shows though? They never show the ‘ugly’ things in a house that, like it or lump it, are necessary — TVs, cables, security systems.

People need security in their homes, make it work designers!

You can find everything for your home security needs, including Infrared Illuminators at Security-Cameras-CCTV.com :)

IT Outsourcing at Netspt

I was watching the new ITV show called The Last Millionaire last night, ITVs answer to The Apprentice apparently, though I’d personally call it more of a direct rip off but hey ho, the more reality shows out there the better as far as I am concerned — the similarities were quite something else. Still, it was a good show with some interesting characters and I look forward to seeing how it develops.
There was one guy on the show who specialises in IT Outsourcing who was a bit of a loon, a ‘real character’, but he did seem to know his eggs and he is currently my pick for the win — watch him go out first now, ha.
