I have been sleeping like a log recently, which is unusual for me — I don’t usually sleep terribly as such but it takes me a long time to drop off and I am often restless throughout the night and if I need to get up in the middle of it for the toilet or any thing it takes me ages to get back off.
The last two weeks I have been working out, really hard, I have been doing up to three hours per day — an hour in the morning, an hour in the afternoon and an hour in the evening — and come 4am (which is early for me although it probably sounds really late to you, 6am is my normal bed time) I have been barely able to keep my eyes open and have been crawling into bed and being asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow soon after 4am most nights.
Strangely, and it is probably just in my head rather than real, I find that I sleep better in Metal Beds than any other! I can’t see any reason why that would be true, but it really does work like that — I love the design of the dark brown/black leather beds like the ones at Time4Sleep.co.uk but I have trouble dropping off in one, weird huh?

I was really unwell on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but had a birthday shopping trip planned for today and it was today or never basically — so I decided to go for it. Thankfully I did not feel unwell at all while I was out, I felt fine and dandy, but I had to get up early so I have only had 3 hours sleep and we were out shopping for almost six hours.
I am absolutely wiped out now. Just doing a little blogging and then I am going to head to bed for a lovely early night

Looks like I am going to end up with a whole bunch of gift cards for my favourite stores for my upcoming birthday, I went shopping today to get some goodies and came home empty handed — Now I have freaked out family left and right asking me what on earth they are meant to get me then!
Eeep, I can’t help it if there’s nothing I really want at the moment.
I’d rather have gift cards that I can spend in the future than have them waste money on something I don’t want or need.

I had a little freak out a while ago at the prospect of turning 30 in just around 3 weeks time, I don’t want to say goodbye to my 20s just yet.
It’s a good job I am an idiot and I soon realised I don’t need to, because it is not my 30th birthday in a few weeks time but my 29th — I still have a year of being in my 20s left. Woohoo.
Time to start thinking about what I want as present(s), I always struggle with my birthday because it’s only a few months after Christmas and I usually find there’s nothing I want.
This year I know one thing for sure, my mobile phone stopped functioning properly on Monday so I will need a new one. It’s still usable but the up and down keys don’t work so I have to navigate either using the number pad or the buttons on the side. I only want a cheapish one as a replacement, I don’t need a fancy one so I will probably ask my parents for that.
I also need some new work out gear, I need both indoor and outdoor clothing as well as some good quality running trainers. I have decided the time has come to give running a try, I have been using my elliptical for a year and a half now and can run 10 miles on that with ease — but I want to see how different it is to actually run, out on the mean streets, really pounding the pavement. I know how important it is to have proper gear though, the right clothes and footwear and high visibility stuff, so I have been putting it off because I couldn’t afford it all.
So my birthday seems like the ideal time to get kitted out

I am really glad that I did go shopping the other day even though I didn’t really feel like it, I got some nice stuff at bargain prices — and because I was in a rush and not really wanting to spend ages, I made snap decisions which is not something I usually do — I usually think for ages about if I want something or not!
I got a nice hoodie, 2 sports bras, some jogging pants and some frilly underwear. Yay

I have to go shopping tomorrow and I don’t want to. This never happens, I always want to go shopping, always.
I have not been well all week and I still don’t feel 100% so I would rather just stay lounging around the house to be honest — I don’t have any money to spend on any thing for me any way so it’s not going to be much fun.
But I need to get some Valentines day gifts — a card for my fiance and a card and gift for someone else.
It’s not how it sounds, there are no romantic intentions there — it’s just as part of a ‘Secret Cupid’ type thing we do.
Oh well, hopefully I can get what I need quickly and then head straight home

I wish I still needed to wear eyeglasses, I wore them from a very young age up until I was around 20 and unlike a lot of kids — I actually loved wearing them, especially as a teenager, they were just another accessory and way to express myself.
I was sad when I was told it was redundant me wearing them, and as an adult I no longer had my parents to pay for them for me so I stopped wearing them.
That is until a few years ago when I discovered Zenni Optical, an online eyeglasses specialist who have had much recognition in recent times, even getting a nod in the New York Times.
They sell frames for as little as $8…at that prices, who cares that I don’t need to wear them? I have already had 3 pairs off of them with clear lenses and I am sure I will buy more in the future also.
I am tempted to go for these ones next, they are so delightfully nerdy that I fell in love with them the second I saw them. However I am not sure I could really pull off the look — I want to look nerdy cool, not nerdy nerdy.

Boo. Spit. Hiss at the economy — my favourite place to buy cheap shoes is the next UK store to go under
Priceless shoes is awesome because they are so cheap and have so many sales it makes your head spin.
I get pretty much all of my shoes, slippers, scarves and bags from them.
I can only hope that they have a killer sell off and I can pick up the next 5 years worth of shoes for a fiver hehe

As you know from my last post, I love my shoes!
I don’t spend a fortune on them though, I can’t really afford to be buying designer every month like some lucky women out there.
That entire package full of shoes pictured below only cost me £25 including delivery, that wouldn’t even buy me the killer heel off a gorgeous pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes though hey?

You know you have perhaps splurged and bought too many pairs of shoes when this is the size of the parcel that shows up a few days later. Oopsie.

I love them all though, although the pair I love the most are too big for me
