HEN PARTY ALERT!

As mentioned a while ago, I have an upcoming event — a wedding! It’s my fiances best friend so I am super excited, although when he met his wife to be he moved away and I have not actually even met her yet! I have been invited to the hen party and said I would help with organising and decorations and the like so we are going to get some cardboard displays made up with photos on — it’s going to be a lot of fun and a great way to get to know her.

Lovely Greece

I was just looking for some good cheap travel insurance for my parents, they are headed to Greece in a few weeks time to have a nice relaxing holiday and decide if they actually want to move out there forever or not — big decision! They definitely want to move away from where they live now and would love to live in Greece, but I don’t think they are quite ready to leave us kids and grandkids behind.

social security disability

I was looking up social security disability a while ago for my mum, she doesn’t need it herself but some people at work were talking about it and she wanted to know more — I don’t know why I have become the ‘go to’ person for all Internet research, can’t people do it themselves?

I don’t mind helping my mum out, but this is for a friend of a friend of my mum for Pete’s sake!

Going to try a body wrap :)

I am super excited, one of my friends won this big competition where she gets a ‘Pamper Day’, she’s getting he whole works — every thing from a hair cut with a top stylist to some strange Japanese massage I don’t even know how to pronounce…and she’s taking me with her!

I am not sure exactly how it works, as her guest I don’t get most of the freebies she does but I know I will be spending a lot of the day in a hot tub and getting my first ever body wrap, I have wanted one for a while but never got around to trying it! I don’t know what exactly I am getting wrapped in just yet, but I don’t care — I am just happy and excited to be going at all :)

Business Conferencing Online

One of the few downsides of having the reputation as the Internet expert among your circle of friends and family, is that people expect you to know everything and when you don’t they expect you to research it for them — it happens all the time and I feel like telling people to look for themselves, but I never do…grr….I need to stand up for myself more!

Today my boss asked me about Internet video conferencing as it is something he hopes to start using in the near future, I told him that as long as he gets some reliable software and a decent service provider it should be pretty simply and straightforward to both set up and use, and now apparently it is my job to search for those things and tell him which services to use!

I suppose I don’t mind really, it’s nice to feel needed.

Play Room

We just ordered some bean bag chairs for our nephews, when they move into the new house the lucky little blighters are getting their own play room that they are allowed to decorate however they like. One of the many things they want in there are bean bag chairs so that they can ‘chill’ when playing on the Wii or their DS’!

Hard to believe they are only 7 and 9 years old haha

My specialist subject!

My dad has been searching high and low for some new work holsters that he likes and are affordable, he’s been looking for a few weeks and holding out for the sales. Well he should have just asked me, he should know I know a lot about where to get bargain items, it’s like my specialist subject hehe

If you need some new work holsters such as the DeSantis Holsters then you need look no further than 511 Tactical, they have a huge range available at really affordable prices. I have just sent him the link and I am sure he will find what he needs there.

Gift Cards it is!

Looks like I am going to end up with a whole bunch of gift cards for my favourite stores for my upcoming birthday, I went shopping today to get some goodies and came home empty handed — Now I have freaked out family left and right asking me what on earth they are meant to get me then!

Eeep, I can’t help it if there’s nothing I really want at the moment.

I’d rather have gift cards that I can spend in the future than have them waste money on something I don’t want or need.

Birthday Pending!!

I had a little freak out a while ago at the prospect of turning 30 in just around 3 weeks time, I don’t want to say goodbye to my 20s just yet.

It’s a good job I am an idiot and I soon realised I don’t need to, because it is not my 30th birthday in a few weeks time but my 29th — I still have a year of being in my 20s left. Woohoo.

Time to start thinking about what I want as present(s), I always struggle with my birthday because it’s only a few months after Christmas and I usually find there’s nothing I want.

This year I know one thing for sure, my mobile phone stopped functioning properly on Monday so I will need a new one. It’s still usable but the up and down keys don’t work so I have to navigate either using the number pad or the buttons on the side. I only want a cheapish one as a replacement, I don’t need a fancy one so I will probably ask my parents for that.

I also need some new work out gear, I need both indoor and outdoor clothing as well as some good quality running trainers. I have decided the time has come to give running a try, I have been using my elliptical for a year and a half now and can run 10 miles on that with ease — but I want to see how different it is to actually run, out on the mean streets, really pounding the pavement. I know how important it is to have proper gear though, the right clothes and footwear and high visibility stuff, so I have been putting it off because I couldn’t afford it all.

So my birthday seems like the ideal time to get kitted out :)

Bye bye bike

My dad needed to find some really great motorcycle accident attorneys a few years ago when he was involved in a smash on his bike that was not his fault. He’s got rid of the bike now because my mums nagging about how dangerous they are finally won out — I am glad he got rid of it too, though I don’t really think bikes are any more dangerous than cars, as long as the person riding it knows what they are doing and my dad did. It was the only crash he had ever been involved in and he’s been riding since I was a kid!
