Make the most of it!

I have decided to look up some life insurance quotes for myself, a few high profile people have died recently unexpectedly and it really highlights the fact that you can go at any time, even if you are young, healthy and fit — it’s kinda scary but at the same time makes you appreciate the life you do have and aim to make the absolute most you can of it :)

Awww!

Well my flowers didn’t last very long, they were doing fine yesterday but when I got up today they looked in a real sorry state :(

Birthday Pending!!

I had a little freak out a while ago at the prospect of turning 30 in just around 3 weeks time, I don’t want to say goodbye to my 20s just yet.

It’s a good job I am an idiot and I soon realised I don’t need to, because it is not my 30th birthday in a few weeks time but my 29th — I still have a year of being in my 20s left. Woohoo.

Time to start thinking about what I want as present(s), I always struggle with my birthday because it’s only a few months after Christmas and I usually find there’s nothing I want.

This year I know one thing for sure, my mobile phone stopped functioning properly on Monday so I will need a new one. It’s still usable but the up and down keys don’t work so I have to navigate either using the number pad or the buttons on the side. I only want a cheapish one as a replacement, I don’t need a fancy one so I will probably ask my parents for that.

I also need some new work out gear, I need both indoor and outdoor clothing as well as some good quality running trainers. I have decided the time has come to give running a try, I have been using my elliptical for a year and a half now and can run 10 miles on that with ease — but I want to see how different it is to actually run, out on the mean streets, really pounding the pavement. I know how important it is to have proper gear though, the right clothes and footwear and high visibility stuff, so I have been putting it off because I couldn’t afford it all.

So my birthday seems like the ideal time to get kitted out :)

Flowers, for moi?

My lovely fiance brought me flowers a few days ago, as he arrived I could see he was trying to hide something so being a typical woman I spun around him for a look, hehe, I am such a spoil sport.

He got me a dozen gorgeous pink roses to make up for not being able to get me any on Valentines day. I wasn’t bothered he hadn’t got me any for valentines day because I don’t expect them — so that makes it all the sweeter.

It has also given me the chance to use the ‘Soil Balls’ I ordered several months ago but kept forgetting to use. They are really neat, I used some blue and clear ones and the fill the entire vase. I hope they last at least as long as the flowers :)

Luxury for my loved one :)

I have been searching online for luxury watches a lot recently because I was going to get my fiance one for valentines day, I have left it too late now though so I am going to get him one for his birthday in July instead. As it is a big one, his 30th, I want to get him a really nice one — so it’s probably a good job I left it too late for Valentines Day, now I can save up a little bit for it :)

Pretty watch

My fiance got me a lovely watch for Christmas, it’s pink (of course) with sparkly hearts on it — I love it, he did a great job picking it out because it’s a dangerous game that, choosing jewellery for me. Most people get it wrong and then there’s that whole awkward thing where you either have to tell them it isn’t your cup of tea, or pretend you like it.

Watch

I am thinking of returning the favour and getting him one of those really nice Swiss Army watches for his upcoming 30th birthday.

Stood up

I ended up spending most of New Years Eve pissed off.

I got stood up, three times.

Let me precede this by saying I am not a huge fan of going out on New Years Eve and usually have to be nagged and pushed into going out. This year I had decided I wanted to go out, I decided not to be a grump, I decided to get dressed up and do the whole thing.

Firstly I got stood up by my parents who asked me if I wanted to go somewhere, I said yes and started getting ready, a few minutes later they were off out of the door — I was left scratching my head at that, but I am sure it wasn’t done on purpose as they aren’t mean.

Then, fifteen minutes before I was due to set off, after literally hours of bathing, waxing, painting, making up etc etc, my friend text me to say plans had changed and she wasn’t going now — wtf? Her text didn’t even make sense, it said something about having got her mums tickets now, that meant nothing to me but I didn’t call her to clarify as I really didn’t want to speak to her at that point.

Oh well, as least I will still be able to go out later on when the other half arrives I thought — oh no, 30 minutes before he was due to arrive he called to tell me he was still at work and wouldn’t be here until about 11.30.

11.30, what the hell use is that on new years eve? It was too late and pointless to go out at that time so we just stayed in.

That’s the last time I make plans for New Years Eve.

Need Work Boots?

My dad has been searching high and low for some new work boots that he likes and are affordable, he’s been looking for a few weeks and holding out for the sales. Well he should have just asked me, he should know I know a lot about where to get shoes, it’s like my specialist subject hehe

If you need some new work boots then you need look no further than 511 Tactical, they have a huge range available at really affordable prices. I have just sent him the link and I am sure he will find what he needs there.

Home Theater

When I win the lottery and move into my dream house, it is going to have a swimming pool, a snooker room for the fiance, a gym and a home theater so that I can sit and watch all my favourite reality shows on the big screen. It will have swanky decor, drinks and popcorn machines and the most comfortable home theater seating money can buy.

Now I just need to start buying lottery tickets, heehee.

It all happens in January!

My fiance has to get his car MOT done in January, as well as getting it taxed and insured for the year — ugh — expensive :(

He warned me earlier in the month I wouldn’t be getting too much for Christmas this year because he needed to save his pennies, that’s OK with me as I am not greedy — but I still searched to try and find him some cheap auto insurance because I know he struggles financially at the beginning of the year.
