Need hard to get tickets?

Another thing I love doing is going to gigs, I go whenever I can…music, TV show filmings, comedians. I really wanted to get tickets to Take Thats upcoming tour, but unfortunately have no one to go with…I have no friends who actually like them, losers :P

It’s probably a good job I didn’t want to try and get tickets though because I think I would have been disappointed, I have been hearing on the news all day that it’s all sold out already making it the fastest selling tour ever or something. Crazy, go Take That!

TicketCity.com is a broker who specialize in getting tickets for sold out events, they currently have plenty of the highly sought after BCS Tickets for example.

Won’t have too much time for television..

…because I won a Wii, Oh happy days.

I imagine that I will be playing that like a crasy lady over the next few weeks. I have De Blob for it and plan on borrowing a few other games from my fiance and my brother.

Having said that this blog hasn’t exactly been filled with content since I changed direction with it and turned it into my television opinion blog, which is strange because I do watch a lot of TV and I do love to rant about it!

I must try harder.

Binoculars for my dad

My dad is a total pain to buy for, and it’s annoying that both his birthday and Christmas are so close to each other…at least when they are further apart you have longer to think about what to get some one!

My Mum is sorted for his birthday present though, she’s ordered him some binoculars! I don’t know what sort they are, but I do know that he’ll enjoy them…why? He likes to look at things, haha. Really, he’s not into hunting or any other activity most associated with binoculars, but he likes to look at scenery and the like!

At NikonProGear you can get Free ATB Pro Gear when you purchase something from their Monarch ATB range in the form of $25 – $50 gift cards. This offer runs until December 31st. Enjoy

Going Away

Just wanted to pre warn you guys that I am going away for 12 days as of tomorrow.

The good news is that I am only going to stay with family so will still have plenty of time to watch TV and then blog about it — in fact, if anything I will have more time, because I will be home alone all day while they are out earning a crust.

For now though, off to watch this weeks X Factor while I should be packing!

Ting!!! Get a Degree

One thing that always intrigues me when it comes to ‘Improve your life’ style reality shows, is that in the end around 90% of the participants end up deciding to go back to college, getting online degrees or doing a course in something.

“I’m thin now, I am going to get that degree in English I always wanted”
“I can control my unruly children now, time to go back to college”
“Now I know how to dress for my shape, I am going to become a hairdresser and get my qualifications”

It makes sense really, it’s about confidence and having the nous to go out and do it. But it still never fails to amuse me for some reason.

If I ever go on a reality show and have that ‘Ting!! get a degree’ moment, I can search on Edvisors.com to pick out what I want to do!

Heroes is Alright

The last few episodes have really picked up for me, this is a relief because I was starting to fear that it was going the same way as most American shows of a similar ilk — mind blowingly amazing first few seasons and then it descends into utter nonsense (I am looking at you Alias and Lost!).

I do still think it’s a little that way. How many times can Hiro need to save the world? How are we meant to care when someone dies because we know they are unlikely to be actually dead. How are we meant to take story lines seriously when we know that they can just explain anything away with time travel — time travel, the laziest form of storytelling known to television.

But at least it’s moving at a fast pace, there is character development and twists a plenty to keep it at least interesting.

Ring Ring

As someone who doesn’t like using the phone any way, I have to wonder…how on earth did people survive before mobiles and caller display? I never, and I mean never answer the phone unless I know who is calling me. This actually saved my mum from getting scammed a few weeks ago, a number kept on calling the landline but I didn’t recognise it so did a search via a www.reportphonenumbers.com online and it turned out it was some company pretending to be from BidTV asking for pin numbers. Sneaky. I told my mum about it and not to answer, or to tell them she was calling the police if they called again…and that’s exactly what she did the next day when they tried it again.

Thank the heck for the Internet and sites like ReportPhoneNumbers.com, hey?

Spendaholics

Another show I love to watch late at night on those obscure cable channels is ‘Spendaholics’, because I am so sickeningly sensible with my own money it always amazes me to see some of people on that show and how they deal with their own finances.

If you earn £300 a week, and spend £500 a week on handbags and eating out in nice restaurants, you are going to find yourself in debt. Duh.

It also amazes me how difficult they find it to tighten the belt once they realise they need to. I am surprised we don’t see more of them don’t just sign up to paday loans online — or maybe they already did but they just don’t air that part?

Dear Advertisers, It’s not Christmas yet!

I couldn’t believe my ears earlier tonight while watching the X Factor, I was looking at my computer but I heard a Christmas song blasting out at me….’All I want for Christmas, is yooooou’ — It can’t be, can it? A Christmas advert in October?

So I look at the TV and sure enough, there’s DFS trying to sell us sofas just in time for Christmas. Jeez.

Now I am no scrooge, Christmas is my favourite holiday…but did I mention, it’s still October, Christmas is a whole two months away. We have Halloween and Bonfire night to get through first.

Come December, when Christmas is allowed to start in my opinion, I will be bored to tears of it.

There’s such a thing as overkill you know?

Please save the Christmas stuff for Christmas dear advertisers, please!.

StubPass

Here are some of my hobbies, going to the gym, going to the cinema for free, eating out for free, playing bingo for free, going to concerts for free, being in the audience for some great TV shows for free — spotted a pattern yet? I like to go places and do things for free, and it’s amazing how easy that is when you know how :)

I run another website that covers a lot of how to do this stuff, it mainly involves going through cashback sites to get any output back, but also lists sites like SeeFilmFirst and ApplauseStore, where you can get all manner of tickets for free.

The absolute best freebie me and the other half got, was when I managed to get tickets for Radio One’s Big Weekend in Preston a few years ago — for the benefit of those of you not from the UK, or who have been living under a rock, it’s a free music festival from Radio one and tickets are very hard to come by and highly sought after. We had an awesome time, we saw Mika, Stereophonics, Rhianna and the Kaiser Chiefs among others.

Of course you can’t always get free stuff, even the master freebie finder has to pay sometimes (boo). Sporting events especially are really hard to get freebies for…of all the events I have gone to for free, very few have ever been sports related.

StubPass.com is a great and well known site to purchase your tickets for many popular events.
So if you are looking for NBA Tickets, tickets to a show in Vegas (baby!), fancy seeing a Broadway show, or need Boston Celtics Tickets or any others, visit StubPass.com, I am sure they will be able to accommodate your needs :)

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go back to bargain hunting.
