In bed with my telly

Sorry for not blogging for a few days, I was suffering with a cold all last week so didn’t feel much like being online at all…never mind blogging.

I spent the week in bed with some TV, it was a great week to be sick TV wise at least — what with so many American shows coming back on air — Survivor, The Amazing Race, Prison Break, Smallville, Heroes…the list goes on. I also managed to get through some films I have been meaning to watch for ages — Juno, Sweeny Todd, Hellboy and Superbad!

Indeed, there are worse times to get ill…I am almost sorry I am better :)

Jeff Probst FanGirl Alert!!

I’m such a Jeff Probst fangirl, I got so excited when he kicked off the first challenge then started running to the finishing line — run Jeff run!! I don’t even know why it amused me so much, I guess I just love him as a host and the way he gets stuck in, what a champ.

That Emmy was totally deserved.

Couldn’t believe the picks that Fang made (it’s not just me is it, they all totally pronounce it as ‘thong’?!) at the beginning, you think to yourself that that’s gonna come back and bite them in the behind…and boy it already did. They deserved to lose the first few challenges and I am glad they did — hope it doesn’t continue that way though, it sure gets boring if one tribe dominates so heavily this early on.

I usually hate that the old person, or the fat person get voted out first just because they are old/fat…but in the case I was very happy old lady went home, I found her majorly annoying. I actually thought they were going to go for Dan or Ken and I was going to be left dumbfounded by their choices for the 47575th time already.

Speaking of Ken (gamer), is he some sort of minor celebrity? A bit like the wrestling woman from last season? I see lots of people on youtube comments and coming to my site etc searching for him and saying they are only watching for him!

Overall, great premiere…great to have Survivor back.

Roll on The Amazing Race premiere on Sunday :D

A really annoying habit!

I have developed a really annoying habit, I call it the ‘Somethingy McSomething Habit’ - and that was a perfect example of it. I have taken to saying it several times per hour :irked:

Example of Somethingy McSomething in use:

I drop something on my foot, ‘Crappy McCrap’!! Someone asks me how it feels and I tell them it ‘Hurty McHurts’. I agree with something someone says so I tell them ‘Wordy McWord’, I disagree with something someone says so I tell them ‘Wrongy McWrong’. I find something funny so I say ‘Giggley McGiggle’, I find something cool so I say ‘Neaty McNeat’.

I wish I knew where I had picked up this habit, so I could go around there and Beaty McBeat them up…I am driving myself crazy and am aware I sound like a Nutty McNut…but…I…just…can’t…stop.

Show me the money

I am considering adding some sort of adverts here on Jeoberpta, it’d be nice to find a way to make a few extra pennies for just rambling away like I do, because my fiance is sick of listening to me - and it does seem like everyone does it these day, doesn’t it? It’s one thing I have noticed while dropping entrecards the last few days, every blog seems to be monetized in one way or another, does no one just blog for fun any more?

I remember when I started blogging back in the late 1990s (God, how old does that make me sound?), you’d about fall off your seat if you saw any form of adverts on a ‘personal’ site, they were for commercial sites only.

Times change though, and I am more than willing to change with them. I have had success on some of my other sites with running google adsense adverts, so I might give that a go here - though those sites get traffic, I am not sure it’ll be worth it on a site that gets very little. Time will tell.

DeathRace was OK!

We did go to see Death Race on Tuesday evening, and we are glad we did.

An online friend insisted we should go and told me I could slap him if we didn’t like it, this was a pretty dangerous offer on his part as I am very very hard to please when it comes to films and we’d seen a trailer and thought it didn’t look very good.

But he was right, we did rather like it. Although there were certain things about it that didn’t make sense and are still bothering me — but I am like that with all films, I like everything to add up in the end.

Still, 7/10 — and that’s a really high score from me.

Death Race, to see or not to see?

We have ticket so see Death Race at the cinema tomorrow night, for free, I don’t do paying for the cinema. But I don’t know if we will go or not. The fiance and I are terrible when it comes to films, we are very hard to please which is why we go on these free screenings — if we didn’t pay to see it we don’t feel as bad if it’s no good. Also we go to them ‘blind’, we don’t watch trailers or read synopsis or anything.

However the last time we went to see one (Pineapple Express, I liked it, he didn’t) we saw a trailer for this one…and because of that neither of us really want to go because we weren’t really impressed with the trailer, but then we never are.

We’re so picky and annoying. It’s free, we should totally just go right? But then, what’s the point if it’s going to be rubbish?

Writing this blog post did not help me come to a decision at all.
